It's Do or Die!

That's right: the laundry pile stops here. It's wash time and not soon enough. For those with morbid curiosities, the pile is neck high.

A friend dragged me out yesterday, after a truly hellacious week, to see Serenity. I never saw the original 11 episodes of Firefly, so didn't know any of the back story.

It turned out just fine. The movie is engaging and has Joss Whedon's trademark excellent dialogue. There's an intelligence there and enough black, white, and grey shading of good and bad to make this film if not spectacular, at least much better fare than has been seen in the sci fi movie genre. In addition, the cast are no supermodels or stud muffins, but they're not dogs either. They just look like people and are flawed like people, another far cry from the usual Hollywood fare.
